Object of Desire

Gold leaf on plaster, wood base.  This piece speaks of the tendency of some people to turn women into an object of their desire instead of appreciating the human being.  Perhaps you have heard "look at those hooters," or "now that's a great butt!"  I know, it's not just women who become objects!  Iconic art - appx. 8" high - For Sale.

Life-sized ceramic (fired clay sculpture), collection the artist

I commission portrait busts in ceramic and bronze - not castings of the face but one of a kind original sculptures.  These may be used as artwork for home or office, memorials to a loved one or in the case of the bronze, as sculptures for the garden.  If you would like more information on commissioning a sculpture piece, please contact me at abqartstudio@gmail.com and thank you for your interest.

HALFMAN, UNFINISHED

HALFMAN (finished)

Fashioned of Sculpey oven baked clay over aluminum foil ball.  This is no particular person, just started with a skull and added everything else.  He looks like a Buddhist monk to me, at least half of his head does!  I prefer to make a skull first when sculpting a head, because then everything that follows will be in proportion.  This is a teaching aid for my private students.  For more information, click on Art Lessons at left or fill in the contact form at the bottom of any page.

Boulderman

Thank you Aaron McPherson for the name!  This piece is inspired by pre-Columbian art.  Paper mache finished to look like stone.  Lightweight, yet durable.  For Sale.
